TRACE & NARRATIVE / 痕跡與敘事
Chalcedony — microcrystalline quartz — coloured by iron oxide and hydroxide distributed through its layered structure. The banding is not painted on. It is the stone's growth record: each band a shift in the chemistry of the silica-rich solution it precipitated from, laid down in sequence over millennia.
The yellow ranges from pale wheat to deep amber, depending on iron concentration and oxidation state. Much of the commercial supply is heat-treated to intensify colour, but the structure remains the same — agate responds to temperature the way it always has, since the Permian period.
Found across Brazil's volcanic south, particularly Rio Grande do Sul, where basalt flows created the gas pockets that became agate geodes. Crack open an unremarkable grey stone, and inside: concentric bands of warm yellow, built up ring by ring like slow-growth timber. The patience is geological. The result is legible.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES / 物理特性
- Durable chalcedony — suitable for daily wear
- Avoid prolonged heat exposure which may alter colour
- Clean with water and soft cloth

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROJECTION / 心理投射
Consistency — Accumulation — Legibility
A tribute to the long game. Eschews dramatic shifts for incremental layering, visible only through the perspective of time. Operates in the register where patience scales into a competitive edge. Quiet, material compounding.
SELECTOR'S NOTE / 選品手記
A material study in long-termism. It rewards not the dramatic breakthrough, but the unshakeable slope of a growth curve visible only through the lens of patience. It belongs to those accustomed to stacking layers in unobserved quadrants, requiring no audience for their progress.
