TRACE & NARRATIVE / 痕跡與敘事
Quartz embedded with flakes of fuchsite — a chromium-rich mica — that scatter light from within. The effect is called aventurescence, named after vetro avventurina: a type of Murano glass produced in the eighteenth century when copper filings were accidentally dropped into a molten batch. The glass was named 'by chance.' The stone inherited the word.
Green aventurine forms in metamorphic environments where quartz and mica co-crystallise under heat and pressure. The green is chromium; the shimmer is structural — thousands of flat, reflective platelets aligned at slight angles inside the quartz matrix. It is not surface gloss. The light comes from within.
Brazilian deposits yield material with fine, even fuchsite distribution — a muted green with a subtle internal glow rather than surface sparkle. It looks weathered in the right way: less jewellery, more like copper left outside long enough to develop a living skin.

Insight — Reserve — Recalibration
Improves probability through superior deciphering. Not luck, but pattern recognition functioning below the threshold of consciousness. An edge registered only in hindsight: being in the precise room, noting the precise detail, moving at the precise tempo. Chance favors the attentive.
SELECTOR'S NOTE / 選品手記
Advantage is often built upon a capacity for deciphering what remains unnoticed by the majority. Behind this composure lies a relentless mode of pattern recognition: identifying the precise detail within the optimal tempo. I selected this for its alignment with a specific type of intellect—one that observes continuously beneath the threshold of conscious effort.
