Black Gold Super Seven

Quartz containing copper-coloured rutile (titanium dioxide), given the trade name "Black Gold Super Seven." Mineralogically, it is copper rutilated quartz. Rutile crystallises before the quartz, which later grows around it. When iron-bearing rutile takes on a dark copper tone—neither gold nor red—the entire crystal presents a blackish-gold character. The appearance gave it the "Black Gold" name. Primarily sourced from Brazil. The name "Super Seven" circulated in the market first, but the stone does not contain seven minerals. The name and the content were misaligned from the start—not unusual in the world of minerals.
